The Rise of Superconductivity

The discovery of superconductors that operate at higher temperatures follows an unpredictable path. They can be grouped into conventional, cuprate high-temperature, carbon-based, iron-based high-temperature and polycyclic hydrocarbon superconductors. Triangle symbols denote materials that become superconductors at extreme pressures. (Mouseover and click points for information.)
